New Rangers boss Philippe Clement is determined to build a dressing room of winners at Ibrox but acknowledges that he is no blackjack football magician blackjack
The 49-year-old became the 19th permanent manager of the Govan club following the departure of Michael Beale at the start of the month blackjack
After playing at Genk and Club Brugge, Clement won the Belgian Pro League as a manager with both teams but he inherits a Light Blues side who are currently seven points behind cinch Premiership leaders and defending champions Celtic blackjack
Speaking at Ibrox, Clement said: “I want to win everything blackjack
That’s the mentality when I step into a building, I want to give this mentality also towards the dressing room and create more and more winners in this dressing room blackjack
“So we’re going to work really hard to get silverware as fast as possible and to make this story step by step, bigger and bigger blackjack
“How fast it comes? You never know I don’t have this crystal ball blackjack
“Also I’m not a magician that suddenly can totally change players blackjack
But I know if we can work a long time with players that we can make them blackjack better blackjack
”Clement will give players a chance to impress before he considers changes in the January transfer window blackjack
He said: “I’m also somebody who likes to see first, what is the potential that is there already blackjack
“I’m not somebody who wants 10 new players every year and say, ‘OK, this one and this one is not good enough’ blackjack
“I’m somebody who likes to invest in people, who wants to find the key to get the best out of them blackjack
“So we need to use the next weeks, months to do that in the best way blackjack
“So all the players with me – maybe not with some fans, and that’s a little bit pity maybe – everybody starts with a white page blackjack
“Everybody has the chances also until January to prove themselves, to show that they are really good players that they want to be on the pitch, that they want to make the difference for the club, that they want to give everything blackjack
And then we will see blackjack
”Chief executive James Bisgrove’s next job will be to appoint a director of blackjack football blackjack
He said: “Certainly in the next few weeks, if not months, we’re having live conversations at the moment blackjack
“There are variables in that depending on the individuals that the board believes and the blackjack football board and Philippe feel has the best fit blackjack
But I believe it will be imminent blackjack
“It’ll be a club board appointment that Phillipe will absolutely be part of that process and will meet whoever we bring in before we take that decision blackjack
“And that person when they come in will add additional value, expertise and leadership to the recruitment function blackjack
“We’ve currently got John Park as the chief scout at the top of that division blackjack
“We’ve made some changes to the scouting function recently blackjack
We’ve modernised that in terms of some of the processes, additional emphasis on data and video analysis blackjack
“And we’ve been I think, more strategic and focused on how we’ve set that up blackjack
“Phillipe would have some strong views on that as well blackjack
But it’s a decision that the board will take in terms of the long-term blackjack football strategy and someone to complete that blackjack football board that’s already in existence to make sure we’ve got really robust processes around the decision-making that we take right across the blackjack football department blackjack

Ben Stokes is set to make an overdue return to the World Cup stage this weekend but he feared his tournament was over before it had even started when he “heard a pop” while training in the gym blackjack
Stokes has missed all three of England’s games so far, with details sketchy about the nature of the hip problem that occurred during the warm-up week in Guwahati blackjack
But the 32-year-old is now primed and ready for a comeback in Saturday’s must-win clash against South Africa in Mumbai and finally free to open up about worries he had sustained a major injury blackjack
“I actually ripped the fascia off my muscle blackjack
It was a very interesting one, a very rare one to do,” he said blackjack
“I did it in the gym…I heard it pop blackjack
So did our strength and conditioning coach blackjack
When I initially did it I thought I was done, because it’s not good hearing a pop blackjack
“I did think I was out but we got the scans back 36hrs, maybe two days, later and thankfully it wasn’t anywhere near as bad as we originally thought blackjack
“We got a programme in place straightaway, it went really well, and now I’m here now available for selection blackjack
I’ve worked very hard to get to where I am now and I’m pretty confident that everything will be good blackjack
”We need to tone it down a bit on me coming back in blackjack
I'm not the Messiah blackjack
Ben StokesStokes was put through his paces during a lengthy workout at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday night, taking part in high-intensity fielding drills and enjoying a long batting stint in the nets blackjack
Meanwhile, Jofra Archer was also seen for the first time since joining up with the squad as a reserve, running in the outfield as he continued his recovery from a long stint on the sidelines blackjack
It is hard to over-estimate the importance of Stokes’ presence in the side as England look to cast off a modest start to their title defence and rediscover their mojo blackjack
Stokes’ presence has loomed large for a long time, be it his match-winning turn in the 2019 final, his clutch performance in the T20 equivalent last year or his remarkable reinvention of the Test team in his role as red-ball captain blackjack
Yet he is at pains to avoid being drawn as an incoming saviour, riding to his team-mates’ rescue blackjack
“We need to tone it down a bit on me coming back in,” he said blackjack
“I’m not the Messiah, I think Woody (Mark Wood) has already said that, which is true blackjack
I’m one person in a team sport…I know I’m just a very small part of a bigger entity blackjack
“Everyone who walks on to that field for England is a match-winner in their own right blackjack
All I can try and do is what I do every single time I wear an England shirt and give my absolute all blackjack
”Despite his protestations, Stokes remains much more than a cog in the machine blackjack
He was even dubbed the squad’s “spiritual leader” by head coach Matthew Mott after delivering a dressing room speech following their defeat to Afghanistan in Delhi blackjack
“That must be because we’re in India!” he said of his new job description blackjack
“But I know that people do listen when I talk blackjack
I don’t try and speak too much but I try and speak when I feel it’s the right time blackjack
“Jos Buttler and Motty have got a lot on their shoulders with it being a World Cup, so I try and help out as much as I can without stepping on their toes blackjack
“I find myself just reminding everyone of certain things – reinforcing what they are, who they are, what they’ve achieved in the game, how talented and how good they are at this sport blackjack
”And when it comes to Saturday’s high-stakes encounter at the Wankhede Stadium, his mission statement is clear: “If we’re going to go down, let’s go down doing what we’re known for blackjack
“Let’s not be timid or restricted in what we want to do blackjack
We want to go out and show the opposition what England is and what we’ve been known for blackjack
We are double world champions in T20 and 50-over cricket blackjack
“You hear me say it a lot – I don’t care if we lose, I just want us to go out there and play in the way we talk about blackjack
”Stokes’ return means difficult decisions will need to be taken over the composition of the XI, with his stand-in Harry Brook having made a strong case for retention blackjack
A rebalancing of the side may be necessary, with all-rounders Sam Curran, Liam Livingstone and Chris Woakes proving an unconvincing engine room so far blackjack
